The Cobble Hill Association is pleased to announce The 2nd Annual Cobble Hill Window Painting Day. Mason Lane is a proud sponsor!

This is a spirited community event during which 50 local children can register to paint their own Halloween-themed window on Court Street. We’re all about fostering a sense of community with our neighbors and local businesses so this is not a competition, it’s just for FUN!. We are excited to see what the kids can do and look forward to enjoying their creations as we walk along Court Street!

DETAILS

WHO: This event is open to children ages 6-12 living in the neighborhood between and including Atlantic Avenue to Union Street, Smith Street to Columbia Street. Kids can register as an individual or team of 2, and registration is on a first come basis.

WHEN: THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 26th. Check in begins at 9:30am and painting should be wrapped up by 12:30pm. All windows will be professionally cleaned on or around Nov. 2.

*Please note that the rain date for this event will be Sunday October 27th.

WHERE: Each registered individual or team of two will be assigned a 3x2’ retail window lot on Court Street between Degraw St and Atlantic Avenue. Registrants will receive their assigned window location on event day at the registration desk outside Compass at 212 Court Street. Added bonus: Compass is graciously offering hot chocolate, coffee, doughnuts and warmth in their office throughout the event and for all who participate.

HOW: This event is made possible by the Cobble Hill Association, with support from Mason Lane Art Advisory, Biomonde Window Cleaners, and the generous retailers of Court Street who have kindly donated their window space.

SUPPLIES

Each participant will be given the following:

  • Newspaper to protect surrounding area

  • Paper towels

  • Painter’s tape

  • Crayola Tempera Paint tubes in red, yellow, blue, white and black

  • 4 paintbrushes

  • Paper plate to be used as a palette

  • Garbage bags

Participants are invited to bring additional of any of the above, including other Crayola Tempera Paint colors, paintbrushes and paint sponges, if desired. All supplies you bring will be approved at the check in desk on event day. Supplies that are not allowed are listed in the Rules and Regulations section below.


RULES AND REGULATIONS

These rules are important for the management and enjoyment of the event. If you are unable to comply with them, it may result is us giving your spot away, so please try and be mindful. Email BOO@masonlaneart.com with any questions!

  1. All participants must check in at the event day registration desk, located in front of Compass at 212 Court Street, between 9:30 and 10:00am to get his/her window assignment and receive event supplies. If you’re running late, that’s OK! Just let us know by emailing BOO@masonlaneart.com or we may have to give your spot to a child on the waitlist.

  2. Each participant is responsible for covering the space around his/her work space. We’ll give you newspaper and show you what’s best on event day.

  3. Painting supplies should remain on newspaper while children are painting to avoid spills.

  4. Parents, other adults, and unregistered others shouldn’t assist in the painting execution; this is an event to showcase the children’s imagination and talents! Parents/caregivers ARE required to supervise their children throughout and to help ensure the work space is clean, rules are followed, and everyone has a good time!

  5. Supplies that are not allowed include:

    • Any paint except Crayola tempera paint

    • Painting knives

    • Any other writing utensils such as pencils, pens, markers, and sharpies.

    • Tracing paper

    • Duct Tape

    • Stickers

    • Glitter

    • Glue

  6. No paintings may contain profanity or inappropriate content.

  7. Each workspace should be cleaned of newspaper, tape, debris and supplies by 12:30pm on event day

  8. Children may do paintings independently or with one partner. Painting teams of more than 2 children are not allowed because the space gets crowded and spills are more likely to happen.

  9. All windows will be professionally cleaned on or around Nov. 2 by Biomonde Window Cleaners.
