Fall 2022 Project Rundown

This fall, we’re moving into high gear for residential projects out west, installing for our largest corporate project to date, and prepping for photography at new homes on the Jersey Shore, outside Detroit, and on the Miami waterfront. Here are a few highlights of what we’re working on now, and see details here on where we’re spending our time.

PROJECT ASPEN

We’ve been in conversation with New York-based designer Helena Flecker about a client project in Aspen, Colorado for months, and this summer, the project kicked off with a trip out west.  For this onsite, we met with Helena and the construction crew to review what’s going and what’s staying for this incredible home, one of the two in Aspen built entirely of many, many logs.  In fact, one of the clients’ design goals is to remove unnecessary logs and modernize the walls and trim so as to balance all the wood with natural light, modern finishes, and an overall clean look.  Below are some mid-construction photos.

The visit to Aspen coordinated with Intersect Aspen, a charming fair with great material, and where we identified a number of works that are slated to be included in Presentation 1 to our clients, happening later this month. The directive is to source pieces that relate to the surrounding environment, are created by artists working with nature, and have a modern appeal that showcases client taste. Here are some highlights:

Outdoor Sculptulre: Beverly Pepper, Octavia 2015, Cor-Ten Steel.

Michael Brown’s Eye of the Sun, oil on 24-k gold leaf on canvas mounted on panel

Rashid Al Khalifa, Spectrum XVII, 2022, Enamel on aluminum

Angela Glajcar’s layered works on paper

DOWNTOWN TORONTO CORPORATE COLLECTION

Right in the heart of downtown Toronto, there is a new corporate collection that we are so proud of. Designed by iN Studio, three recently constructed floors of Bay Street had one simple brief: to integrate diverse voices into the art collection. The collection is united by themes of nature + technology; we sourced artists who encourage us to reflect on our surrounding environment, enrich our communities and bring people together. Anchored by museum-quality pieces, the collection integrates the work of emerging and established artists who are shaping the course of contemporary art.

Here is a sneak peek and lots more to come on this one:

Artists: Brendan George Ko, Emmanuel Osahor, Sandra Brewster, Esmaa Mohamoud

Sasha Pierce, Caroline Monnet, Shaheer Zazai

PROJECT NAPLES

This was another fun collaboration with Tara Cain Design for a Minneapolis couple who recently remodeled a waterfront condo in Naples, Florida.  What made this project incredibly rewarding was the shared vision for the space between us, the designer, and the homeowner.  We all embraced the goal of creating a home that was light, elegant, and layered, with not a seashell in sight.  As the living area is quite open, artworks will be viewed from several different vantage points, and needed to be both thoughtful and complementary to the gorgeous turquoise water outside the windows.  We are looking forward to the upcoming installation of several pieces (a bit delayed due to Hurricane Ian), including works by Lilian Crum, Caprice Pierucci, Maura Segal, and Susan English.

Caprice Pierucci, white washed pine

Maura Segal, acrylic and paper on canvas

Susan English, tinted polymer on panel

Lilian Crum, Sumi ink on paper
